I got a citation from a fare inspector. What are my options?

If you are 18 or older and receive a citation for fare evasion, you can resolve the citation outside of the court system by: 

1. Appealing your citation

This is your best bet if you can prove you had valid fare.

2. Paying a fine

Your fine may be reduced if you pay within 90 days.

3. Performing community service

In place of a fine, perform 4-15 hours of community service at organizations such as Oregon Food Bank or the Rebuilding Center.

4. Enrolling in a reduced fare program

If you're eligible and enroll, your citation may be dismissed.
